Like this you mean? see below

Go here: http://labs.wanokoto.jp/olds  yes I know it's in Japanese lucky  you don't need too.

Click the browse button to locate you picture then click the blue button below and in the centre to start the aging then right click on the final picture and save as.

For simpler souls here's how to do it in Photoshop

I had a look at pinkcloud's Photoshop guide to aging but I think the Japanese site provides a more authentic "aged" look. It even puts scratches in that aren't in the original which adds to an authentic aged appearance. Incidentally, you don't need to read or speak Japanese to use the facility. The top right corner of the screen provides for a Japanes/English version of the page. My only criticism of the site is that there is no (apparent) way to adjust the "aging" up or down. Otherwise, its in my "favourites".

It's suppose to; most old photos have the odd coffee or tea cup stain.

OK

But it's blobbier than your Japanese one.

Yes, I was saying that the one you made in Photoshop was blobbier than the one you made on the Japanese web site.

I'm going to shift to the graphics section.

Good to see some interest in images lately.

Jutta,

I had already written a reply to the help forum, suggesting that you might might be able to contribute your indisputable talent to the photo "ageing" discussion. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it off in time. Nonetheless, your posted image is very much what I had hoped for. What I would like to know is, How you did it and, with what program?

macca I use a Program called "Jasc Psp 9", for my Work,
used the  Plugin called "Photo aging Kit" , I used the following applications of the Filter, for the Photo,
Old Colour
Hair and Dust
Dirt and Dust
Film Grain
Dust and Scratches
Chracked Paper
and a Coffee Splat
and Frame

as far as undisputable Talent, golly gosh I am only a Bottlewasher compared to "some" in other Groups, lol, besides there is really nobody posting in CA to compare with, not that it should be a Competition but to learn from one another, but the "able" Members,  seem to be to busy asking Questions only

I do not relish paying out a hard earned $70 for PB9 for the few extras they have in their programme.    There must be lots of free image programmes out there which will age pictures.     The Japanese site was good....as far as it went.      Any other contributors ?

Haggarty,
If you find a free one, let me know too please!
"PSP" is not just a Program, it takes Month of hard learning first, but very addictive once learned, so beware!
