I am having a problem with my Outlook in Office 7 "Microsoft has encountered a problem has to shut down"
When I open some of my mail the window shuts down then reopens again
If I reistall office 7 will I lose all my contacts and emails or will the re install just pick them all up again
will a repair save, or will I lose them l
I also have all our appointments on there as well, and I dont want to lose everything
Dont mind losing e.mails but calender, excel, tasks, and contacts etc are important to us
I have a external hard drive and can put it on there but not sure how to save just outlook and I dont want to save this problem
Thanks for any suggestions

If you look under
File
you will find that you can
Export
your file(s) to another drive/file etc. After you have done your reinstalled or repaired you can the reinstall your files.
Files-Import

Picked this up on another forum...
I have solved the problem with the help of Microsoft Support. It was caused by an add-in. Further Google search on this add-in indicates the problem is widespread. The add-in is pdfmoutlook. That needs to be de-activated in Outlook.
The way to do that is to go to
Tools>Trust Center>Add-ins. At the bottom of the box there is a small drop down box. There are two applicable choices: COM and Exchange Client. I don't recall which of these is the one to choose, you will have to try one then another to find the offending add-in. Disable it. Restart Outlook, and for me that did the job.

You will not do any damage by disabling them, just try one at a time to find the offending add on.
