You haven't said why you need to use Sys_restore?

It sounds like you don't have any restore points to go back to as you have used up your earliest point ...

Your not going to be able to fix the problems you now have with sys_restore so you need to consentrate on fixing the problems you have now because any restore point you now make will include problems ...

After you have fixed it you can right click "My Computer" / properties/ system restore tab ..... take the tick out of the box to turn it off and click ok and reboot ... go back in and turn it on and manually set up a restore point ... that should get it working properly again.

At this point you may need to do a repair install of XP to get your system files back in order....

Do you have an XP installation disk?

With programs/ accessories ....

The subject behavior can occur when you use Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs / Add/Remove Windows Components to add Accessories and the Accessories program group fails to be properly created.
To resolve this issue:

01. Open Control Panel.

02. Start the Add or Remove Programs applet.

03. Press the Add/Remove Windows Components button.

04. Select Accessories and Utilities and press the Details button.

05. Clear the Accessories box.

06. Press OK.

07. Press Next.

08. Press Finish.

09. Close Control Panel.

10. Open Control Panel.

11. Start the Add or Remove Programs applet.

12. Press the Add/Remove Windows Components button.

13. Select Accessories and Utilities and press the Details button.

14. Check the Accessories box.

15. Press OK.

16. Press Next.

17. Press Finish.

18. Close Control Panel.

Repair or Reinstall Internet Explorer6 and Outlook Express 6
http://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_reinstall_ie_and_oe_6.htm

Personally I would put Windows Live Mail on and forget Outlook Express ...

Hello Sueg

For the Address Book to work in Outlook Express you have to have the .wab file installed in the Address Folder in

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book.

Open Explore (I right click on Start then left click on Explore))
Double click on Documents and Settings
Double click on User Name
Double click on Application Data
Double click on Microsoft
Double click on Address Book

If the .wab file is missing from the folder you said above that you had found it so you can copy and paste it in.

If the .wab file is already in the folder open it to see if it is either corrupt or empty and copy and paste it in as before.

Is your doc/settings not the same as mine?  Can you describe the problem which is probably easier?  If you can I will wait here for a reply

If you want to send the screenshot you should be able to right click on it then Save As and save it as a Jpeg or jpg which will make it smaller. You can right click on a jpeg or jpg and get a resizing option if you have this routine in installed.
