I have decided to install the fax client on my machine so I can send and receive faxes. As the program is not installed by default I was asked to insert the Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 CD, then click OK. I did this and got another dialog box which said the same thing but it had a 'copy files from' area. I clicked OK on this box too but nothing happened. Can anybody help me out with this as I don't know where to go from here.

Firstly do you use dial up? as fax doesn't work through broadband.

I have broadband. I have a D-Link DSL 502T ADSL 2/2+ router. My problem is not the internet connection, but getting the FAX components onto my C:\ drive.

Sorry Smenk, I just read your note again (and this time I read it properly) Is it a fact that you cannot use the FAX facility with broadband?

Yes it is a fact that you cannot use the fax via broadband except as Eric has suggested. You will need a fax capable dialup Modem.

Or you could use eFax. http://home.efax.com/s/r/au_search?VID=37321&CMP=BAC-int14
