Daughter's laptop has Privacy Center on it. She tried to download a spyware tool to get rid of it, but computer crashed & couldn't download anything, now this Privacy center page comes up.
When she tries to click it off, it just keeps telling her to put in registered number. She has no register number, it's a ploy for her to buy it.
She can't access anything on her computer, this privacy center has taken over.
How do we get rid of it please??

She is running Windows XP Service pack 3

Thanks Neon.

I've managed to get to SpywareRemove.
The problem is there is only this Window on the desktop.
There is nothing else on there, no Start, no clock, nothing.

I'm just about to try to download it.

I have downloaded & installed.
The only problems is that I cannot access it as there is no desktop,
just the 1 window I have open.

Personally I would be using Malwarebytes as in the tutorial as it seems like this spyware has knocked out explorer and even maybe task manager? ... Malwarebytes fixes that after it gets rid of the crap.

You could try give this a shot ....

press Ctrl + Alt + Delete ..... you should see the task manager ... click New Task ..... type in explorer.exe ... OK

That should bring back your desktop.

Good News!!  My daughter ended up getting her desktop back.
She then downloaded Malwarebytes and removed all the junk Plus the
Privacy Center.

She is going to be more careful about what she dlicks on next time.
Thankyou so very much for all your advice, we couldn't have
done it without you.

No that is part of Internet Explorer and quite safe ...

You would know very well if you picked up this other thing as it is relentless in trying to scam you for money ...
