Anti Virus-VIPRE
«
on:

Hi Folks
I recently installed VIPRE anti-virus and since 30 Dec have been unable to update the definitions. Support from Sunbelt in this matter has been negligible. Has anyone else used this program and experienced this problem.
I am using Win XP Pro with SP3

I've never used it however it sounds like your firewall is blocking the program.

No neonwizard, because it is a Sunbelt firewall and VIPRE is in the exception list and VIPRE is produced by Sunbelt. It has operated OK until 30 Dec

Yes I have and there is a problem with VIPRE updating, however Sunbelt support is not doing much to solve the problem

From what i have read it seem it's a problem on there side and not much you can do on your end.
Go here download and install the latest definitions manually yourself:-

Hi Neonwizard
I have tried the link and when go to definitions it takes you to CA Security site. I have advised Sunbelt support of this problem and now awaiting a response.

I think at this point I would be kicking it to the sidewalk
Any security program with that big a security risk isn't worth having ....
Go for Avast Home free or Eset Smart Security for an excellent cheap Antivirus.
