Hi guys
A question please, re msconfig
in my system configuration utility i have four items under the "startup" tab
1  nero check
2  ctfmon
3  adobe reader
4  winzip quickpick
Should,nt there be a lot more as there must be other things starting just to get the machine going
my other comp had things like systray.exe for instance
wadya reckon. Maybe this is the reason my CA antivirus does,nt have a tray icon as spoken about in the
past forum in a post of mine?Huh? How do I get things into the "startup"

Open up msconfig and click on the Services tab, at the bottom of that page check that there is no tick in the box next to Hide all Microsoft Services.

Tassie
Nope no tick but there is a pile of things under "services"some running others stopped
Interestingly mike lins startup inspector shows the same as msconfig but will allow me to add things
Oldyella my old comp looked exactly like yours
How come the comp starts and operates ok without things starting up although they Must be???
cause "services"shows things "running"
