pinkcloud, it works fine for me saving as .doc or .rtf nothing is lost. You do not have to select Read Layout, select Normal View and Print Layout, scroll down and start Typing, then adjust in Print Prieview.

How do you save a scanned image as a pdf file?
It is an option provided when right clicking on the scanned image. pinkcloud Is this in the scanner software, or after the event? In either case, I suspect that what's in the pdf file is an image, not text, and therefore most definitely not editable.

There are so many variables with pdf files. Adobe owns the format and the authoring rights, and they control pretty tightly what other software can edit them. Then there are variations between versions of Acrobat, and also the fact that the original author of a document can control what others can edit in that document, even if they have access to Acrobat. You have a bit of a can of worms here.

Thanks Paul.
It’s my hard copy page mainly text but with some small pictures and all I need to do is to put this in my PC maintaining the existing layout, text and pictures so that I can add a paragraph to it.
On the face of it this should be quite simple…….

I'd like to send it but it has personal info. There is nothing special about the structure of the page, just some text and small pictures. It's like any other hard copy page really. pinkcloud

Thanks for your help neonwizard. This is a hard copy page rather than Adobe Acrobat. I will start a new thread. pinkcloud
