Jutta has sent me a message very kindly drawing my attention to the fact that I am showing my email address under my Avatar on this forum and most people hide it to protect their privacy.

I like showing my email address and I have had some very interesting emails from other members which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Are there reasons for not showing it that I may not know about?

That choice is entirely up to you .... some like it private and some don't ..

We didn't put it in the makers of the Forum software did that .

The "Email button" if used properly can make your email address safer as you see in this example Bill Gates Contact Me but I still would use it because I don't what spam, but it's up to you if want to post your email address you are the one who will receive the spam
