Is it possible to convert songs downloaded from the net in mp3 format into a format that when copied to  compact disc will play in a standard cd player, (car stereo) if so can you please tell me how to do it ( in simple terms )

you most certainly can.
you need to use a burning program such as nero to burn them as CD audio format.

you will only be able to burn 70mins if you do it that way though.


most CD players made in the last 5 years will be able to play mp3 though.

Open Nero and go to music and click on "Make Audio CD" then follow the prompts.
