Accessing the Internet from a network
«

I have two computers networked together each using Windows XP Pro and Zone Alarm (not Pro)
I can access files and the printer across the network from either computer.
One computer, the Gateway, has a dial-up modem and connects to the Internet OK.
I cannot connect to the Internet from the other (Slave) computer. All settings seem to be OK. The Gateway is set to share its dial-up connection, the Slave is set to automatically detect settings. ZoneAlarm is set up to allow the LAN as a Trusted site.
Internet Explorer (on the Slave) seems to not be able to find any Internet connection at all.
Any suggestions??
TIA
Alan
PS When I shut down ZoneAlarm on the Gateway computer I can connect to the Internet from the Slave computer. This suggests that it is a ZoneAlarm setting - they all look OK to me.

Thanks for your reply Eric
I found the ZoneAlarm setting - I had the Internet firewall set to high which does not allow sharing. Have reset it to medium and all works OK now
Hope you are continuing to recover.
