I am still running a 2ooo version of Office for years with no problems. For no apparent reason the list of contents in Word - My Documents, are shown suddenly in a descending order instead of  the previous and wanted alphabetical order. Have tried to change to alphabetical without success so far.

Any suggestions {apart of getting a newer one} from the learned members.

Thank you Jim for the reply. The folder "My Documents" shows the docs indeed in alphabetical order.
However I wanted the same thing using  Word and still can't change it from chronological [see attached]

Valdis,
have you tried opening Internet Explorer--Folder Options--General Tab, click Apply down the Bottom if changing Settings, and OK out.
Just a Thought, if your open My Doc. Folder shows different in Word to the Original, maybe you need to Repair Word?

Thank you both for the replies. When I right click  the screen it does not show - arrange icons- by name, but it shows   lot of other things - see attached. Have now - My Documents - folder to open alphabetical.

You are opening WORD and in the menu clicking OPEN ....

That is where you are getting that box up ......

The last screenshot you showed would be if you were to click on a file in that screen ....

You need to take the scroll bar to the far right and click on a BLANK spot within that screen and you will get the option I described.
