For a person who does not have Ms Office PowerPoint but has the latest Ms Viewer which opens all versions:-

An email with a PPS attachment does not open in Outlook Express. A search via Google offers a small registry fix for the problem.

My question is,  if a restore point is set then the registry fix applied, can we system restore to change back to the way it was if the fix does not work?

Shall be very grateful for help with this.

It would ... but if you save the powerpoint attachment to your desktop you could open it there ?

Hello Jimbob

Have tried saving , no luck, evidently this is a known problem specially with Windows XP SP2 according to posts I found via Google. Shall offer a registry fix or Open Office which is supposed to open all Microsoft Office applications.
