When I open an existing Excel worksheet I am receiving an error message that I have created a Circular Reference and I do not know what this is.

It is a simple worksheet of one page and just adds up some financial figures.

All of the searching I have done comes up with a solution to uncheck the Circular Reference toolbar but it is already unchecked.

Does anyone know what to do about this please?

I know you believe you understood what I said. But what I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
