Microsoft Office 2003 installation
«

Morning,
Having trouble with trying to reinstall Office 2003. When it gets to the section where the options are such as install, re install, repair or uninstall I select reinstall and click ok. The system then just locks up and will not respond. The same happens if I try to uninstall through the add/remove process. Any suggestions please. Also for some time now the only way to close a word document is to use Ctrl/Alt/Del and end it that way. Very annoying so I thought reinstalling may fix this but am unable to do so. Thanks in advance for any help

Better late than never?
With Word closed, search for and rename the file Normal.Dot (something like Normal.dot.old will do). This is the Word document template. Then start Word - a new Normal.dot will be created.
This file can cause problems both in Word and in Outlook (as Word is used as the Outlook message editor). I had symptoms very similar to yours recently, and this fixed them.
