What computer and router are you using?

Both need to be N compatible for it to work, B/G are older standards and is what most older computers and routers use.

Thanks neonwizard.

It works fine and always has.

The router is a Netgear DG834G with Netgear WG111v2 adapters and am using various PCs.

I asked where I could find out because it was mentioned in a printer I may buy and I don't know where to look on my PC to find out what I've got.

Thanks for help.

WG111v2 is an 54 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter it's not N compatible

What is the model number and name of the Modem that has the telephone line connected to it? This may or may not be N compatible but you can always buy a N router.

N just for a printer is really over kill

I am not asking you to do anything really.

I just would like to know where on my PC I can see what I've got.

I didn't see that you posted you have a Netgear DG834G this isn't N compatible either is the Netgear WG111v2.

Belarc Advisor (system info tool) may have told you if the Adapter or Computer was N compatible but all that is a moot point if the Modem/Router isn't compatible as it will need to be the first thing replace with a new unit that is N compatible then the Adapter.

Thanks neonwizard but I am not asking about n compatibility.

All I am asking for is some help with my computer.

I just would like to know where on my PC I can see what I've got.

I thought this would be in Device Manager but it isn't.

Thanks for help.

Download Belarc Advisor

Thanks neonwizard

I have always had Belarc Advisor installed.

All I am asking is if someone can help me find this on my PC.

It should be in the Device Manager or somewhere else in the Control Panel but isn't.

It won't be on your PC ....

You need to get the name of the device and go to the manufacturers site and have a look at the specs for that device.

Jim thanks.

I know all about the device but what is taxing everyone is that it doesn't show up as hardware connected to my computer.

Thanks for help
