I am about to buy Microsoft Office 2010 and it says that it comes either as a download or on DVD.  It says it can be installed on two computers - that is one PC and one laptop.

It says the download can be done only once.

I'd prefer the download as I would like to have it now and not wait 10 days for the DVD.

Does anyone please have any experience of the download versus the DVD?

And if I get the download how do I get it into the second PC?

its about 718 megabyte to download and you use your external drive to run it to another computer.

I never did get an external drive Jim so what can I do about getting the Office 2010 to the second machine (laptop)?

Is it safer to get the DVD version?

Could someone please tell me the pros and cons of a download versus a DVD/CD?

Googling hasn't helped me.

DVD/CD = Hard Copy but can be scratched + Costs a little more but only a few £
Download Version = Very large download

Best to stay with the Hard Copy in my opinion

With something as big as Office you need either a DVD or a VERY secure backup of the download. I have reinstalled my Office many times for various reasons. In fact I have both - DVD, backup copy of DVD, copy of DVD on Hard drive and backup of that copy on external HD.
