Using xp pro .Problem is my search keeps freezing. Started doing this for a week now...tried restore but makes no diff... any ideas pse.....

Have fiddled with this and it seems mainly the companion search that freezes up....Maybe I can ignore this and perhaps download some other program?Huh?

From what I can remember with XP the Microsoft Search was an add-on, so you could try uninstalling it via Add and Remove then reboot and go to Windows Update and it should appear as an update, I don't know if it will work or not but it's worth a try.

Hi neon, you was correct in deleting search and re installing, Search in itself is ok, but its the companion search.It finds what you search for, but freezes as soon as I click ..So to be clear as I can be, the main search operates fine, its the companion search that just freezes after it finds the search.
