I have been told there is a 'contraption' that will transfer all my old phots out of the an album and onto a disc. Does anyone know if this is correct and what it is called please.

You should just be able to burn the photo file straight to the disc. I assume that the photo album is on the computer!
Or was there some specific need you have?

I know you believe you understood what I said. But what I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

If you have photos then you would need to use a scanner to get them into your computer and from there burn to disk.

What jimbob said.

It is a two step process. First you scan the photos to your hard drive. Then you copy (burn) them to disc.

You can buy a stand-alone scanner, or you could get a new multifunction printer like this one, which will do printing, scanning and also serves as a (slow) photocopier:-
