hi folks daughter rang me with this prob
she is starting to get a lot of the message lost server and net goes down she has been rebooting modem and it works for a couple of hrs then same thing happens again , she has rung aapt  but it seems english understanding is not their strongest point
they said they have reset modem
but it still goes off
have you any clues to how to fix it please

Hard call to make ....

But I always hated old DLINK modems and that one would have to be 5-6 years old at least ...

A firmware update might help.

Other thing you can look at too:

1. Had any storms lately?
2. Is the fixed telephone making any crackling noises?
3. Are you sure the line Filters are connected/or connected correctly?
4. Some modems don't like the modem power brick connected to a power board
5. Make sure no other electrical equipment is interfering with the modern
6. Make sure the modern isn't over heating
You could go on for ever

The first two require Telstra to fix, If you hear crackling or other voices on the line call Telstra and report a fault for the Phone (if she has one) they will check the line

she is going to open purse and get a new modem any suggestions on brand would be helpful
i know this is off topic
in a hp printer do i have to use the 2 cartridges black and colour
or can i take color out and just use black as most of printing only use black

I like Billion Modem/Routers as for the printer, take the cartridge out and test it
