In stats for April we have 4 members, May we have 163 members. By my reckoning that’s either 163 total or 167. But in general stats there are a total of 166 members. Is this some sort of “political” type of accounting saying one thing and meaning something else?

It may not count the default helpdesk account, or it may not have updated everything yet
Edit: It may also not count members who registered but were then deleted, I'm not entirely sure how it works.
