Is one of my security settings at fault?

Any help please?

Make sure Flash Player install first, go to add and remove if it's there remove it then download this one and install.
http://www.download.com/Flash-Player/3000-2378_4-10728044.html?tag=lst-1

or this one

I still have trouble.   I have removed Flash Player - restarted - downloaded Flash Player and installed it - restarted - checked with Adobe and it tells me that I have the latest version installed OK.

However, when I go to some sites I am told that I need Flash Player installed or JavaScript turned on.

Help please!!

TIA

Try this, uninstall again from add and remove the reboot if asked.

Now run this flash player uninstaller here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

reboot again if asked then reinstall.

You may have Java disabled in your Browsers Tools/Options, instructions for enabling depends on which browser your using.

Sorry - I should have said in the original post - I am using Windows XP Pro, SP2, IE 7, ZoneAlarm, AVG, &c

When I go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ it indicates that I have Flash Player and Shockwave Player installed correctly.   Java is ON because I can use Java chat applets in Telstra for example.

When I go to Windows Live Spaces - http://www.live.com/?mkt=en-au -
and click on "Whats New" it takes me to -
http://imagine-windowslive.com/live/whatsnew/default.aspx?locale=en-us
it then tells me that I need Adobe Flash Player 6 or above!!  You may not be able to follow these links since they are after I have logged in to my account

The problem is not important and I can live a long and happy life without that particular web site Cheesy

Thanks for your help
