Now to my knowledge my PC does not have wireless.
however.
my neighbor says he can see not only my router but also my pc.
any idea what the dealy here is?

router does.

but he's also detecting my pc which doesn't

i have ssid hidden and a 64 bit encryption key.

SSID hidden doesn't do anything and it sounds like you have WEP encryption which is cracked, is it WEP you have? does your router have WPA? If you don't need wireless you should be able to turn off on your router.

the router has every form of wpa under the sun but my brothers laptop (which is why i need the wireless, doesn't support it.

I understand your predicament but this opens up your router and your computer, your on the same network. Your brother should check and see if there is a WPA update for his laptop.
