I downloaded one song from destra online (JB HiFi) and have had trouble playing it and was wondering if you could help.
I have gone thru a number of steps and workarounds but have not been able to play the song.
Destra have now agreed to refund the cost of the downloaded song, but I'm now afraid I will not be able to download songs from any site.

1. I performed a DRM update from the following link:
http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1

2. After I completed this upgrade I received a Windows Media Player error message when I tried to play the downloaded song:
"The file you are trying to use requires a software component on your computer to be upgraded." It then had the option to go to Upgrade the security components by visiting the following Microsoft Web site:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=75378

3. When I try and install this upgrade, I get the following error message:
An error was encountered during upgrade. If you are still unable to play your content, additional help and support is available on http://support.microsoft.com......this has been useless.

4. I have encountered all these errors several times on 2 different PC's, its very frustrating, can anyone help.

thanks

What is the file name extension of the downloaded music ( the last 3 letters after the full stop)?

See this link for some possible options. Perhaps removing Windows Media Player via Add/Remove programs and then downloading and installing from this linked page.

Another option....
