Have searched on how to fix my "right click menu" which for the last few Days is so painfully slow.
Have performed the usual Maintenace on my PC. including a Springclean by removing the Top, but it did not help.
found the following,
http://bink.nu/forums/p/3447/3447.aspx

but am unable to find
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Open With
in my Registry.

Any Advise please!

In Regedit click Find and search ContextMenuHandlers

Right click too slow

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

Thanks Neon, will try it forthwith!

Just found this, and applied it, but it does not help matters?
go into any folder
click tools->folder options
go to the "view" tab
and uncheck the "automaticaly search for network folders and printers "
click ok...

Neon Wizard,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers , and
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
Folders are both empty ((Value not Set)

Will check you Link out now, thanks!

All fixed Thanks Neon,

Followed Method 2. in your  Link http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

and sorted, disabled and tried one by one "non" Microsoft ContextMenuHandler,
the Culprit was
CnvShellATL Class   Yes   Context Menu   cnvshell   6, 3, 6, 0   cnvshell Module   fCoder Group International   No   No   No   C:\WINDOWS\system32\cnvshell.dll   {A118FEA0-1D1B-4165-BC37-88F95B250E7A}   25/09/2006 6:57:02   25/09/2006 6:57:04   No   *, Folder   A   282,624

"Got this from Google"
Silent runners .vbs
Startup  Items buried in Registry (mentions Zone Alarm, which I had installed once upon a Time)
strange that it should have affected  my right click menu now?

The main Thing is I am back on Track

Glad the worked Jutta, doesn't take much for the registry to have problems.
