help wanted from Jimbob

Dear Jimbob.
In Windows P and Vista I can have two little TV screens to tell me whether offline or not and to disable. What can I do to have more or less the same(icon) on IMac Leopard. I am on a satalite and using a router. I know I can turn off the router to just play around with Leopard(I am learning) but surely there is something easier I can do especially as we have set up a home network.
Very much obliged and there is no particular hurry if you are busy. Take care, Lynn.

I don't thing Leopard has that I could be wrong but I can't find anything like that, why do you want to turn off your internet connection while testing Leopard?

I understand lulu
When I first came on broadband I wanted to disconnect when I was not interested to surf or send mail. I have Zone Alarm firewall and I used to right click it and choose STOP ALL INTERNET ACTIVITY. I settled down after a couple of weeks and now never give it a thought.
Boy, how I used to curse my ISP for constantly disconnecting me until I realized it was I who disconnected myself but had forgotten.

Thanks once again to everyone. I won't bother then. Just that I am so used to turning everything off when not using the internet. I have limited broadband and then it goes onto dialup. My provider is excellent moneywise and in time when everyone is on broadband, I will think again. Take care everyone out there in the wild blue yonder. Many regards. Lynn
