Hi Folks,

I have seen comments but can't find them right at the moment regarding animated avatars, and how some are and some aren't.

This is what I thinks causing it:
When you goto link to or upload an avatar the Helpdesk checks the dimensions of the image.  It determines if its larger than 90 x 90 pixels in size.

If its NOT larger than 90x90px it uploads it and leaves the original file intact.
If it IS larger than 90x90px it uploads, resizes it, then save it and makes it your avatar.

Now, the servers smart, but not smart enough to detect there are multiple frames in the image, and I dont think it resizes them all, just the first one.

So, I'm taking a punt on 1/2 a guess here, but upload your animated avatars that are 90x90 or SMALLER and they should be fine... anything larger will likely stop being animated.

If anyone can confirm this theory, would be good Smiley  I have just been flat chat this week!

Cheers
Andrew

I know you believe you understood what I said. But what I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
