my laptop has done by cyberlog-x. If  i log onto my bank webpage a popup appears offering finance with a 1300 number, internet speed is slowed, popup for buying trogan killing software and couldnt get rid of it. i tried 4 different anti spyware programs, in safe mode as well and the only change was different popups and different spyware detected by spywares.FORMAT was my only fix i think. This seemed to happen after being logged onto ebay for most of the day. i dont run and virus programs or spyware and by the sound of other peoples problems it may make no difference.im running xp pro and explorer for surfing, is there one fix for this not to happen again or am i a dreamer???

I think you did the right thinking in formating, any one that does internet banking and has the misfortune to get infected should format to be 100% sure the infection is gone.

Try and use Firefox for most of your browsing and make sure your Anti-virus and Firewall are install and up to date. You can also install the following software:
Spywareblaster & Spybot & Destroy
