Thats fine Smiley

Within Australia expect anywhere from 18ms to 90ms.  As an indication the old server was 66.113.130.201... try pinging that for a comparison in latency Wink

Reading through the Thread again, Neon and Tassie  are telling me to get in touch with my ISP BigPond, hmmmm all well and good, but what do I tell them?Huh?Huh??

Jutta,
I would be getting onto Bigpond Support and report your intermittent problem. both Ooshka and Vocal Scrubber are having the same issues and they are also with Bigpond.

I notice there are also some complaints on Whirpool, apparently Telstra know there is an issue at the moment.

Tassie thanks for your Info,
It is 11.18 AM here, and Megas is running pretty fast this morning, usually by 10Am it died.
I will wait until 1PM and see if it slowed down again, then I will ring theTelstra Support Number, but hopefully Telstra might have fixed the problem, if they are aware of it, (not looking forward to waiting, waiting, waiting on the Phone for an answer) here is hoping!

Just to report back, none the wiser, and another Afternoon totally wasted  Shocked

Checked the opening Speed of Megas again, at 2pm, it was painfully slow as per usual.

Succeeded in talking to Telstra Support just before 5 PM, took me through the usual Settings,
Tools>>Internet Options>>Security Tab to "Set as Default",>>Privacy Tab , to set to "Medium">>Advanced Tab to click on "Restore Advanced Settings" Tab, Apply and OK. Close and reopen IE.
Was told the "Issue" for me with Megas new Site, stems from the "new Server", seeing I have "no Issues" with all other Websites I visit !
(Allthough I mentioned the DOS Tests we did, and 2 other Members also with Bigpond, are having the same "Issues" as I do)
Answer:Telstra BigPond had "Issues" only with Overseas Websites recently, but have been rectified since, and everyone is a happy Vegemite again apart from myself, and maybe ooshka and VocalScrubber Roll Eyes.

All in all, I will just have to hope these damn "Issue" go away,

I just wonder if there is another word in the English Vocabulary instead of "Issues", I think I heard it once to often, all fancy Words and no Action it seems! Roll Eyes

PS. Was also asked do I think my Firewall is blocking Mega out, well it does not, nor does any other Progr. I have installed.
I run McAfee Firewall and AntiVirusScan, just have to take a deep Breath, and get informed there might be some Foe Afoot, McAfee is well aware of Megas Site as I spend a lot of time in it.

Thats interesing if not very helpful
Strangely enough Ms Mega is the only site out of a large number since the new server came on line that throws up Internet cannot connect to the site. After several tries it connects
However it is always fast and ping tests are as low as any quoted here

Hi ooshka,
Megas Site is opening even slower today then all the other days, tried early this morning and gave up on it until now, but it has not improved.
I am glad that you got in touch with Telstra as well, and received the same sort of Answer. (Have you got the Feeling they are passing the Bug?)

I bet poor old hard working Andrew must be puzzled with our dilemma!

Funny thing is, the "first few days" our new Site opened just as fast as all the other Websites I visit?

Have seen this sort of thing in other Forums when they where overloaded with Graphics, but this is hardly the Case here., as it would affect everyone not just 3 of us, mind you I love to hear from other BigPond Users if they are experiencing the same frustrations?

I wonder if it has improved for Local Scrubber?

In the meantime we just have to wait for a Miracle Grin

Will give Telstra another call on Tuesday morning to get the Local People to answer the Phone, bit darn hopeless after 4PM or Weekends, my English needs a lot to be desired, but jeeezuz............

Perhaps flushing the dns is worth a try

go to Run and type in    cmd    when the comand window opens type in    ipconfig /flushdns   and hit enter.

This will flush out the dns cache

Tassie,
has not improved anything, just checked in my Task Manager and noticed "The System Idle process" is running at 96, compared to 0 and 01 to 03 of all other Image Name Processes?
it does not make any difference when opening other Websites though, Mega is still sooo slow this morning.

Just to report Andrew, and All who tried to help.

Megas Site is flying today, wow just like the rest of the Sites I visit , I sure hope it will last.

The only different Thing I did today is, to take the Cover of the Computer, and perform it's 6 monthly Spring-clean, (cleaning Fans etc.)
It must  be a coincidence, but after turning the PC on again, WOW....... no more waiting and waiting, for our new Site to open.

Very happy, and keeping my Fingers crossed!

Mega is faster than a speeding bullett,  Grin  plus when I opened I didn't have to sign in which is great.  Hopefully this is going to keep up. Loved the moving post, lol.
