Well, here we are!  A new change of clothes, a new house and a fresh start!

I would like to put out a quick thankyou to Neonwizard, Jutta and Smenkhare who have helped throughout the testing of the new helpdesk.

It IS a rather large change from the old helpdesk but a change is as good as a holiday!  There may be some little issues that arise so feel free to post them here so we can address them as soon as possible.

Happy posting!

Andrew

Its no longer a PHPBB board, but it still runs on the PHP and MySQL technologies Smiley

We now use http://www.simplemachines.org/ instead of http://www.phpbb.com/

oh interesting. It all looks very good.  This is my 4th change with msmega helpdesk. It has certainly progressed over the years.

I recall the good old MSN Group, Then the PHPBB board and now SMF.

Not sure what the other was, must have been before my time!

no sorry. I THINK the first site I joined was attached to the msmega site then the second change was very brief but it branched away from the msmega site then the next was a php board then this one.
Originally it was everyone helping each other, friendly and relaxed,  but over the years as the site's got bigger and have I noticed it's changed to a few offering help and it's more cranky (lol) More, here's the link, read it yourself.

I can only stress again that the faq section was invaluable and possibly stoppped a lot of the repetitive questions. I can only stress that it gets updated again with the wonderful info that was in there and perhaps some more.

There was another incarnation of the forum before the MSN group - but we had to move from that because of all the pop up ads, particularly the not so PC ads...  Shocked

lol I often giggle over the cranky posts. I am definately not going to name names. Penny was an original member and I am trying so hard to remember who was the helpful member (but even more cranky lol) member who used to give us lessons on how to do things. He was fantasic. He set up a room so it was interactive and they were really good lessons but possibly a bit advanced for me however I kept up. Lessons like how to trace posts from forums etc.

nooo it wasn't jeffrey. I have sometimes wondered if it was neonwizard with a name change. He is not a regular member now. Maybe Penny might remember cos I remember her participating in the lessons.

This was a special interactive room he set up for lessons. It wasn't a general chat room. He wasn't a chatty bloke. Grin
