HELP Please       I have been having this problem for about 2 days  and cannot fix it
I have no idea where this came from it only started about 2 days ago
I have not installed any new programs recently.  It is saying "preparing to install" but nothing happens, by clicking cancel makes no difference just keeps on coming up
I am running MS XP Pro with mozilla
this window pops up ever few seconds and is very annoying
I have also noticed that I cant shut  down the normal way using the start button as this keeps coming up
I have done a CA virus scan plus CC cleaner and spybot nothing is coming up
I am at my wits end not being very computer literate just know the basics I have tried looking at MS site but cant understand it, too tech for me
Hope someone can help soon
Thanks

Looks like Windows Update, when you go to shut down is there a shield next to the Turn Off button?

What usually happens is when you press Turn Off the updates will install before the computer shuts down, this will take some time, after all updates have been installed Windows will shut down.

Have you allowed sufficient time for them to install?

Thanks for the help
It turned out to be a bigger problem than I thought
I got a tech in and he spent 1 1/2 hours trying to fix it it certainly had if confused as to what was happening
I was the CA personal fire wall  self destructing itself so he said, any way he took it off so now I have a couple of samll problems and only the MS firewall till  I can get another on on
