Format HD Win XP
«

I have a legal windows XP Home disk for computer 1 & a legal XPsp2 Home disk for computer 2.
Can I format computer 1 using the XPsp2 disk but insert the XP serial number or are the serial numbers tied to a particular disk?

The Serials are for their own disc only.

I think you should be able to do it ..... as long as they are both "Home" disks.

Tassie & Jimbob
Thanks for your replies - shall give it a try in the near future, I have to wait until my next session of internet allowance to cope with the downloads.

I should have mentioned that both disks are OEM, does that make a difference?
