Thank you Jutta and All
for your kind thoughts and words. But let this come to its end now.
Anna was a very fit and very young not quite 71 year old girl, yes girl.

For the benefit of any who are not aware of what services are available let me tell you how it is at least here in NSW.
After the doctors informed us they could do no more for Anna except to make sure she suffered no pain it became my earnest ambition to have her die at home. Palliative Care sprang into action and several nurses examined our home for its suitability of intensive care.
We received a hospital type bed straight off with push button lifting and lowering. Any equipment needed for the bath and toilet, a wheeled walker and various other helpful equipment.
Her pain thresholds were closely monitored and various complications that are known to arise planned for. In the final days when I needed mental as well as physical support myself it was freely given by daily visits of qualified nurses.
All this assistance was without charge, delivered for free and in the end picked up again without costs to us.
I am telling this story because this is the other side of the woeful stories too often heard about our health services.

nell-never the same-again.

My father came for a visit one year and collapsed in the middle of our Christmas dinner. He broken his ankle amongst other health issues and it was similar. The nsw care helped us by lending us equipment for the shower, toilet, bed and walker. They were wonderful and I honestly couldn't have managed without them.
