Does anyone else have trouble accessing Ms Mega site lately. My friend has asked me  to post this for him.

The site seems to time out when downloading. Everything else seems to be correct – he has tried running CCleaner etc. and has only been able to get in once in the last 3 days.

Windows XP Pro, IE 7, AVG, Ad-Aware, SpyBot

Hope someone can help  - I can pass on  any answers.

I've had the same problem for two nights

Righted itself by the morning. Some other sites gave me the same problem, particularly Flickr and Photobucket.

Yeah .... it was just waiting then the page came up it couldn't connect .... snapfiles was another I couldn't access ... and others ??

I was wondering if it might be SpyBot as I have browser protection and see the update today for it had me close IE before I immunised Huh? ... that's unusual ... anyway I will hope it may have been that ... time will tell now I guess ...

Hi Again,

Spybot has been removed - but my friend is still not able to load Ms Mega  .

Any other suggestions would be welcome thanks.

I'm Back!!!

Thanks to Isisrose for passing my original message on and to all those who replied.

Ms Mega was the only site I was having any problems with - the load bar in the status bar was very slow then the standard message came up showing that the page could not be downloaded.

I removed SpyBot and rebooted and had problems starting up with several resident programs showing faults.   Rebooted again but could not get Ms Mega.   rebooted again and now I am back.  I don't know how long for.

Windows XP Pro is fully up to date.  Scans from AVG, aSquared (Deep Scan), Ad-Aware all showed nothing and I had run CCleaner.

I am still wondering what happened, why the problem occurred only over the last 3 days, why Ms Mega only??

Thanks again for the help.

Ms Mega was behaving perfectly all day

but now is playing up again. It's making no sense. It's almost as though the site is overloaded.

Hi Guys,

Have no idea whats causing this.  We haven't had any issues with the server and there have been no server load issues tracked.

"Page created in 0.101 seconds with 212 queries."

Will continue to monitor this thread... but I can't say I know of any issues :S  The joys of the internet!

The problem seems to have been occuring over the past 4 days only and I have only come across the problem with this site.   I use quite a few operating system and programming forums and ythey have been OK.  It looked to me like striaghtforward timing out on the server.

It would be interesting to ask all those who have had problems recently to list the Antivirus/spyware they are using in case a recent update is causing the problem.   My previous posts in this thread show what I am using.

Alan.

Hi Guys,

If anyone is upto it, when they have issues could you try the following:

Start --> Run

Type CMD then press enter

In the command prompt do the following:

tracert 203.88.114.73

then when that completes, do:

tracert helpdesk.getmega.com

Trying to work out whats causing this... I have had one other report (from someone on Comcen) in relation to another site on this server... I cannot emulate it so I'm wondering if its something with a particular ISP/Backbone at a network level.  I just need more information before I take it back to the Data center.

Andrew

I will try it when next it occurs. But I want to say it's not a big deal. It always comes good again.

Hi Nell-again.

Thanks for that.  It comes good again, but it shouldn't happen in the first place!  We'll get to the bottom of it Smiley
